Two mechanisms
Two mechanisms: crank-connecting rod mechanism, valve mechanism
1. Crank-connecting rod mechanism
The crank-connecting rod mechanism is the main moving part of the engine to realize the working cycle and complete energy conversion.
Composition: It consists of the engine body group, piston connecting rod group and crankshaft flywheel group.
Function: Provide a combustion place, convert the expansion pressure of the gas generated by the combustion of fuel on the top of the piston into the torque of the crankshaft rotation, and convert the heat energy generated by the combustion of fuel into mechanical energy, and continuously output power.
2. Valve mechanism
Composition: The valve mechanism mostly adopts the overhead valve type valve mechanism, which is generally composed of a valve group, a valve transmission group and a valve drive group.
Function: According to the requirements of the working cycle and ignition sequence in each cylinder of the engine, the intake and exhaust valves of each cylinder are opened and closed at a regular time, so that the fresh charge can enter the cylinder in time and the exhaust gas can be discharged from the cylinder in time.
Five major systems
The five major systems include: fuel supply system, starting system, cooling system, lubrication system, ignition system
1. Fuel supply system:
Composition: It is composed of air supply system, fuel supply system and electronic control system.
Function: The function of the fuel supply system is to prepare a certain amount and concentration of mixed gas according to the requirements of the engine, supply it to the cylinder, and discharge the exhaust gas from the cylinder into the atmosphere.
2. Starting system:
Composition: It is mainly composed of batteries, starting control and transmission mechanisms and starters.
Function: Convert the electrical energy of the battery into mechanical energy to start the engine.
3. Cooling system:
Composition: The cooling system is mainly composed of water pumps, radiators, fans, water jackets and thermostats.
Function: Dissipate part of the heat absorbed by the heated parts in time to ensure that the engine works at the most suitable temperature.
4. Lubrication system:
Composition: The lubrication system consists of an oil pump, oil filter, oil cooler, filter, oil pressure gauge, temperature gauge and oil pipeline.
Function: To deliver a certain amount of clean lubricating oil to the surface of parts in relative motion to achieve liquid friction, reduce friction resistance, and reduce wear of parts; and clean and cool the surface of parts.
5. Ignition system:
Composition: It consists of a battery, a generator, an ignition coil, a circuit breaker, a spark plug, etc. Diesel engines do not have an ignition system.
Function: When the engine is working, the combustion of the mixture is controlled by the spark plug ignition. The function of the ignition system is to supply the spark plug with high voltage electricity of sufficient energy at the right time according to the working state of the engine and the working order of the engine, so that sparks are generated between its electrodes to ensure that the mixture can be ignited and the engine can work.
